The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, (COREN) is a body empowered by the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to regulate and control the training and practice of engineering in Nigeria. The council is responsible for the licensing and the registration of all engineering personnel (i.e. Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Engineering Technicians, and Engineering Craftsmen) and consulting firms wishing to practice or engage in the practice of engineering in Nigeria.

Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) was established by an Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The act gives the Council the power to register and control the practice of Architecture in Nigeria and to regulate all other matters connected with the profession.

ARCON regulates the profession of Architecture in Nigeria by certifying professional Architects to practice in Nigeria and ensuring the standards of Architectural education in Nigeria are aligned with set standards. To this end, the council is also responsible for the accreditation of all Architecture Schools in Nigeria.
